We Are St. Martin’s!
St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church
Thank you for your interest in our church, St Martin of Tours. It is a pleasure to introduce you to our parish and its people.
Established in 1960, St. Martin’s has grown from a rural mission to a vibrant urban community in Chattanooga, renowned for its family-friendliness and cultural richness. Our parish is characterized by generosity, inclusion, a strong sense of community, and a commitment to both spiritual growth and social outreach.
After a devastating tornado in 2020, our resilience shone through. A symbol of hope remained unscathed—a 40-foot crucifix. The parish united for recovery efforts, which deepened our bonds and inspired an expansion of our outreach programs, with guidance from Bishop Brian Cole and support from neighboring churches.
Adapting to the pandemic, we embraced a hybrid model of worship and communication, leveraging online tools to keep our community connected. This period of change has prompted us to refine our operational procedures and reaffirm our commitment to sustainable growth and effective ministry.
Our preschool, a 39-year partnership, embodies our mission to nurture young families, aligning with our broader vision of fostering spiritual growth among youth. Our Vestry has identified four core values: deepening spirituality, enhancing outreach, engaging young families through our preschool, and maintaining best practices in church governance.
Debt-free and looking forward, we pray for guidance to fulfill God’s vision for St. Martin's, energized to embark on our next chapter.
