The Rev. Gordon Temple, Interim Rector

Father Gordon received his theological Degree from the University of the South. While at Sewanee he served as a seminarian assistant here at St. Martin's. He was presented for ordination to Bishop Sanders from Nativity Church, Ft. Oglethorpe.

Following ordination in 1986, Gordon served on the staff of the Church of the Ascension in Knoxville. In 1993 he moved to Montana to serve as Rector of the Church of the Nativity, Whitefish, and St. Matthew's, Columbia Falls. In recent years he has served several churches in Montana and Tennessee as interim Rector, most recently at Grace, Chattanooga and St. Timothy's, Signal Mountain. He came to St. Martin's in 2002.

He will abe available for counseling. In addition to his work here, Fr. Gordon continues his ministry as the Spiritual Director of the East Tennessee Cursillo.

Fr. Gordon and his wife, Haven, have two grown children. The Temple's have a home in Falling Water.

The Rev. Suzanne Burch, Deacon

Suzanne was ordained in the Diocese of East Tennessee December 2001 and served as Deacon at Grace Church before coming to St. Martin's. She is a lifelong Episcopalian and has been a member of Grace since her family moved to Chattanooga when she was six years old. She lives in Brainerd and has no children but she shares her home with the most wonderful cat named Evensong.

In her secular employment, Suzanne is the administrative assistant to CEO of Memorial Hospital.

Suzanne sees her particular Diaconal ministry as serving the elderly. This will certainly help up in our goals as set forth in the revision Report. Currently she makes weekly visits to St. Barnabas Nursing Home to visit with the patients. At St. Martin's she is the staff person for the Outreach Committee. She does hospital calls and assists at Sunday services mainly at the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist. She will also be preaching on occasion.

Barb Swanger, Office Administrator

Barb has been at St. Martin's since February 2001. She lives in East Brainerd with her two daughters; Nicole, who is a kindergarten teacher at Red Bank Elementary, and Jessica, who is teacher at Signal Centers. She has previously worked at TVA for 10 years and was the pastor's secretary, and youth and children's secretary at her church for 9 years.
